Corrina King
Welcome ! I’m Corrina King. A mature Personal Trainer who is qualified, insured and experienced in several disciplines and was once a ‘client’ with a PT for 15 years and fully understand the perspective of clients who are looking to improve their health and well being. My approach is holistic, focusing on your mental and physical states to ensure you maximise the mind body connection and your results.
My Story
I am passionate about being as strong and functionally able to do things, despite my age. Having personally experienced the improvements exercise makes to your body and wellbeing, 14 years ago I decided to change career and qualify as a personal trainer. I wanted to help others reap the benefits of improving their health and wellbeing – regardless of age or ability.
During my twenties, whilst working as a legal professional abroad in the construction industry, I was diagnosed with a brain tumour. I underwent several surgeries as part of my treatment which required a long physical rehabilitation. With the help of a personal trainer I was able to regain my balance and motor skills that had been impaired and recovered against the odds.
I continued working in engineering and construction, working for both professional institutes and major contractors. I understand the pressure of work whilst balancing health and fitness. In my forties, having become a mother for the first time, I struggled with balancing being a full time mum and working and it was challenging to find time for myself. Exercise requires forethought and planning – and I’ve found it is possible to balance my family’s needs and still find time for my training.
There can be many reasons why we put off exercising. I understand the stresses of everyday life, how injury and disease can become barriers, and the difficulties of trying to build a fitness routine into family and work life.
I am committed to supporting and encouraging my clients to take control of their health and wellbeing, by giving them the tools and accountability to make small changes and incremental progress so as to not get overwhelmed. When clients are ready, I take the gloves off and make the challenges harder ! I work at your pace, with encouragement and kindness to empower you, for your benefit.
